February is Fillet Month
Happy Valentines Day and 10% off new custom framing orders that include a fillet in the design.
Dear Friends,
The Staff here at The Great Frame Up in Wayne hopes you are having a great start to 2009 and we wanted to tell you about our February framing promotion.
All custom framing orders placed in February that include a fillet in the design will be eligible for a 10% discount with this letter.
A fillet is a small piece of decorative wood that is used as an accent in the framing design with the intent to help draw the eye inwards to the piece being framed. It can be placed inside a frame or between and inside of mats as well. Fillets help create depth and are most effective when the frame and the fillet have similar finishes. When used in the frame itself, fillets allow you to individualize your framing by adding a bead of gold or a sliver of mahogany. Fillets can also enhance the artwork by separating the mat from the art itself.
Diplomas and certificates as well as artwork all can benefit from adding a fillet or two as a design element. Also framing designs that utilize fabric liners can be enhanced with the addition of a fillet inside the liner. Fillets are a way of emphasizing the importance of a particular piece; for example the hard work put into earning a degree or certificate. These types of important pieces deserve a framing design that is unique and outstanding.
We offer fillets in a wide variety of finishes and styles, sometimes specifically designed to be used in conjunction with a particular moulding but many times similar finishes with different patterns can be equally successful.
Please stop in to see our large selection of fillets.
Andrew Newell Wyeth (July 12, 1917 – January 16, 2009) was a visual artist, primarily a realist painter, working predominantly in a regionalist style. He was one of the best-known U.S. artists of the middle 20th century and was sometimes referred to as the “Painter of the People,” due to his work’s popularity with the American public.
In his art, Wyeth’s favorite subjects were the land and people around him, both in his hometown of Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, and at his summer home in Cushing, Maine.
One of the most well-known images in 20th-century American art is his painting, Christina’s World, currently in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York City.
In his memory we are offering $30 off an order of $150 or more when framing one of his prints. Please check out ShopforArt.com to buy any of his prints.
ShopforArt.com is also running a promotion: 9 of Andrew Wyeth’s prints are $1.99 per print click here to access that promotion.
